This policy applies to IOLEBA’s public websites, membership services, the IOLEBA Arcade, the IOLEBA Language Learning Community, the IOLEBA Guild and Assembly, school and organizational programs, online forms, protected content, activities and related communications.
This policy explains what information IOLEBA may collect, how that information may be used, when service providers may process it, and the choices available to users.
When an individual creates or maintains an IOLEBA account, we may collect:
One email address is generally associated with one IOLEBA account. The same account may hold access to multiple eligible IOLEBA programs, including Arcade, French and Spanish.
When a purchase is made, IOLEBA may receive transaction information such as the purchased membership, amount, payment status, transaction identifier, renewal status and transaction date.
Payments are processed through a third-party payment provider, such as Stripe. IOLEBA does not intentionally store complete payment-card numbers on its own website.
IOLEBA websites and their hosting, security and membership systems may automatically process limited technical information, including:
This information may be used to operate the websites, maintain login sessions, diagnose technical problems, reduce fraud and protect accounts and systems.
Certain games, tools or learning activities may store progress, settings or responses locally within the user’s browser or device. Clearing browser storage may remove that locally saved information.
Unless an activity specifically states otherwise, users should not enter confidential, financial, medical or personally identifying information into an IOLEBA activity.
IOLEBA may use information to:
Public purchasers and participants in the IOLEBA Arcade and Language Learning Community create individual membership accounts. These accounts may include the member’s name, email address, username, membership status and purchase history.
IOLEBA may use the member’s email address for essential account, payment, security and service communications. Promotional email is sent only where permitted and may be declined or unsubscribed from without cancelling the underlying paid membership.
Depending on the program and agreement, a school or organization may assign program codes, usernames or non-identifying student identifiers. The school or organization should retain any separate master list connecting those identifiers with student names.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, schools should not provide IOLEBA with student education records, birth dates, home addresses, government identification numbers, medical information or other unnecessary personally identifying data.
IOLEBA may collect names and business contact information from instructors, administrators, purchasing representatives and other authorized organizational contacts when needed to establish and support a program.
Program access may be managed through membership levels, protected pages, assigned program codes, school-specific instructions or other access controls. IOLEBA does not represent that a web address alone creates a technically isolated environment.
Participating schools and organizations are responsible for:
Where a separate school agreement conflicts with this general policy, the written school agreement will govern the specific program to the extent permitted by law.
IOLEBA does not knowingly permit a child under 13 to independently purchase a membership or create a general public account that collects personal information.
A person purchasing a public IOLEBA membership must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter the transaction. A parent or legal guardian may permit a teenager to participate through an adult-controlled family account, subject to the applicable service rules.
Learners participating through a school or authorized organization must use the program under that organization’s supervision and according to its instructions, policies and permissions.
If IOLEBA learns that personal information was collected directly from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, IOLEBA will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify that information.
A parent, guardian or school representative may contact admin@ioleba.com regarding a minor’s information.
Some IOLEBA lessons, tools or instructions may direct users to an independently operated service, such as ChatGPT, for optional AI-assisted practice.
Unless IOLEBA expressly states otherwise:
Users and schools should review the privacy terms, age requirements and account settings of any external service before using it.
IOLEBA does not sell or rent personal information.
IOLEBA may disclose or permit processing of limited information by service providers that help operate the business, including:
IOLEBA may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate fraud or security concerns, enforce an agreement, protect users, or protect IOLEBA’s legal rights.
If IOLEBA or substantially all relevant business assets are transferred, user information may be included in that transaction, subject to applicable law and this policy or a replacement policy provided to affected users.
IOLEBA websites may use essential cookies or comparable technologies to maintain login sessions, remember preferences, support checkout, secure accounts and operate protected content.
Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, checkout, membership access or certain activities from functioning correctly.
IOLEBA may send transactional or service-related email concerning account creation, password changes, purchases, membership access, renewals, security and important program updates.
Marketing messages are separate from essential service messages. A user may decline marketing consent or use the unsubscribe option in a marketing email. Unsubscribing from marketing does not cancel a membership or prevent essential account communications.
IOLEBA retains information for as long as reasonably needed to provide services, maintain transaction and accounting records, administer memberships, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements and meet legal obligations.
Some information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs or records that IOLEBA must retain for legitimate business or legal purposes.
IOLEBA uses reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect accounts and information. However, no website, transmission, database or internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for protecting their usernames and passwords, using unique passwords and notifying IOLEBA promptly if they believe an account has been accessed without authorization.
A user may request reasonable access to, correction of or deletion of personal information associated with an IOLEBA account by contacting admin@ioleba.com.
IOLEBA may need to verify the requester’s identity before acting on a request. Certain transaction, security, contractual or legal records may be retained even after account access ends.
Except where a refund is required by applicable law, IOLEBA membership, program and digital-content purchases are final and non-refundable.
One-time purchases provide the access described at checkout. Cancelling an account after a one-time purchase does not create a refund.
A recurring membership continues and renews according to the terms displayed at checkout until it is cancelled. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current membership period.
Renewal terms, price, billing frequency and cancellation instructions will be disclosed during checkout for memberships that renew automatically.
A free preview does not require payment and ends or continues according to the terms displayed when the user registers.
School and organizational purchases are governed by the applicable proposal, order, invoice or written agreement. Unless that document expressly provides otherwise, program fees are non-refundable after access credentials, protected content or program materials have been delivered.
Questions about a duplicate charge, unauthorized transaction or billing error should be sent promptly to admin@ioleba.com.
IOLEBA may update this policy when its programs, websites, technology, service providers or legal responsibilities change. The revised policy will display a new effective or updated date.
Material changes may also be communicated through the website, account area or email when reasonably appropriate.
